How to stop eating junk food
BY Tanisha Lakha
With swimsuit season coming up, you want to be in your best shape and feel amazing about yourself. The most important thing is that you feel comfortable in your skin and you’re healthy. At the end of the day, your health is what matters the most. No matter your size or weight, you want to make sure that you continue to have a decent amount of protein and vegetables every single day. But how do you tame that sweet tooth? Try out these useful tips to stop eating junk food.
Satisfy the cravings
There are so many yummy alternatives to eating carb overloaded, sugary snacks. Instead of eating candy, try some frozen strawberries. When you’re craving chocolate, try protein bars or a little bit of dark chocolate for a healthier replacement. When you’re on the go, keep nuts, fruit or kale chips handy to keep your hunger sustained. Although these options are all great, making your own snacks is always better for you in comparison to packaged. Get some Thinly small potatoes, thinly slice them and bake or fry with a little oil and salt to make your own potato chips. Use a little oil and salt to also make your own popcorn.
Set a goal
The key is motivation. If you have a goal, it will force you to work towards something and make you want to fight harder. If you have an old image of yourself with your body the way it used to look, make it your phone background. This way, when you look at your phone it will be a constant reminder. Another trick is to tape mini pictures of swimsuits on your snack cupboards and fridge door. It will remind you why you’re avoiding the junk food in the first place. Keep a bottle of water with you at all times. You would be surprised with how full you get if you stay hydrated enough. To track your progress, try on pieces of clothing that doesn’t fit anymore. You can also use tricks like wearing a face mask while squatting to make your skin look fresh and young and give you a confidence boost.
